Ryan Kerlin is the 22 year old writer and co art-creator of Retribution.
Ryan has a trained background in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and enjoys using the programs Poser, and SketchUp, all of which he uses to create the comic.
The story of retribution came about roughly 8 years ago, when he was entertaining his youngest brother Luke. Ryan has always had an affinity for science fiction, and through this affinity he created his own unique universe in a sci-fi setting where his characters could entertain his little brother.
As Ryan was catering for his then 6 year old brother, the story was very different to what it has evolved into today. It was not nearly as dark and the plot was 6 year old orientated, but the raw elements were all there.
The story ended over 6 years ago, but its characters and plot remained with Ryan and he was always evolving it in his head, continuously collecting ideas and gaining inspiration from all types of media.
As the story grew it became too much to simply remember, so Ryan sat down in front of a computer and began to write it all out. The story of Retribution was now beginning to take shape. Ryan began tuning the finer points of the story, until it became a working tale about the fight for freedom in a totalitarian society.
Ryan once again began to share the new story with his little brother Luke, but it was only between the two of them.
Retribution remained private between the two until one of Ryan’s inquisitive friends asked him what he was working on. So Ryan decided to give the rough synopsis of Retribution to his friend who was excited by the story and was interested in knowing more.
And now, much like before, Ryan is going to entertain his little brother Luke with the story Retribution, and hopefully it will entertain others in the process.
Retribution is dedicated to my little brother Luke. |
